ABOUT US
ITF Taekwon-Do at UCLA aims to teach and prepare students through ITF-style (International Taekwon-Do Federation) Taekwon-Do. The focus of the club will be on traditional ITF practice, including patterns (tul), sparring (free and controlled), self-defense (ho sin sul), conditioning (dallyon), and breaking boards.
We will also prepare students for the regulated ITF testing system, and students (up to 1st Gup, red belt with black stripe) can test on site.
Our club will also prepare students for international travel and competition, most notably the World Championships in 2014 in Civitavecchia, Rome, Italy if they are interested.
We affiliate ourselves with ITF Canada under the leadership of President Choi Jung Hwa but welcome anyone from any background to train with us!
The International Taekwon-Do Federation is an international organization that standardizes teaching, testing, and technique and fosters international ties through competitions, seminars, and black belt tests. For those that aren’t familiar with the difference between WTF (World Taekwondo Federation) and ITF, please see the document under Resources. Direct any questions to [email protected].
